Bathroom being renovated in a period flat: large-format porcelain tiles, a low-profile shower tray and a wall niche

Your bathroom redone from strip-out to finishing touches, waterproofing included.

In Bordeaux and Gironde, NS BAT 33 completely redoes your bathroom, from removing the old one to fitting the last accessories: plumbing, electrics, walls and floor, waterproofing, tiling, fittings, painting. In just a few square metres, these trades take turns without getting in each other's way, because a single company organises them. You follow one schedule, with a single point of contact.

Your bathroom is designed before work begins. Walk-in shower or bath, single or double basin, a niche in the shower, wall tiles up to the ceiling or halfway: you choose, and the quote sets out precisely what will be fitted. Before you sign, you know exactly what goes in, and where.

A bathroom depends on what you no longer see: the concealed pipes, the waste outlet, the waterproofing under the tiles. These hidden stages come first, and they decide how long the room will last. Once the tiles cover them, you can enjoy a bathroom where water goes exactly where it should.

Bathroom

What the work includes

  • Stripping out the old bathroom

We remove the sanitaryware, vanity unit and mirror, take off the wall tiles and floor covering, and clear away the rubble. Walls, floor and waste pipes are exposed: we can then see what can stay and what needs redoing.

  • Water supply and lighting

We position the water supply and waste pipes where the shower, bath and basin will go, followed by the lighting, sockets and the supply for the heated towel rail. Everything is in place before the walls are closed up.

  • Walls, floor and waterproofing

We straighten walls and floor, put up a partition wall or wall lining if the layout calls for it, then apply the waterproofing: a continuous barrier under the tiles, in the shower and along the bath, that keeps water out of the walls.

  • Floor and wall tiles

Floor tiles and wall tiles are laid in the sizes and colours you have chosen. In a walk-in shower, the floor slopes gently towards the drain, with no step and no shower tray.

  • Fitting the bathroom

Shower, bath, vanity unit, WC, taps, heated towel rail, mirror: we fit the items you have chosen and connect them. Every water supply is turned on before handover, so the room is ready to use.

  • Painting and final details

The ceiling and untiled walls get a paint made for damp rooms. Grout and accessories complete the room, and handover is done with you, tap by tap.

Why choose us for this work

  • One company responsible for the water

The same company lays the pipes, the waterproofing and the tiles. If there is a leak, there is no need to work out whether the plumber or the tiler should come back: you call NS BAT 33, which answers for the whole job.

  • Five stars on Google

Customers whose bathrooms we have redone give us five stars on Google: one describes the result as impeccable, another praises the work on theirs, stripped out and rebuilt, in a house in Bordeaux (reviews checked on 24 September 2026).

  • After water damage too

When your bathroom has suffered water damage, we monitor the drying out, redo the affected walls, floor and wall tiles, then get it back in use, based on a clear quote for your insurer.

How we work

How the project runs

  1. 1

    You describe your project

By phone or with the online form, you tell us what you want to transform. We call you back to pin the project down: the rooms involved, your priorities, the timing you have in mind.

  2. 2

    An itemised quote

Demolition, plumbing, plastering, painting: each job has its own line and its own price. You see exactly what you are paying for and decide with all the facts, before you sign anything.

  3. 3

    Each trade in turn

Demolition opens the project, followed by plumbing and electrics, partition walls, floors, joinery and painting. We organise this sequence: each trade starts on the finished work of the one before.

  4. 4

    Handover, room by room

We go over the work with you and record any snags on the handover report. That date starts your guarantees: one year for completion (garantie de parfait achèvement), two years for equipment (garantie biennale), ten years under the builder's guarantee (garantie décennale).

FAQ

Bathroom: your questions

How much does a bathroom renovation cost?

Three things set the price: the floor area, what moves, such as the shower or the basin, and the range of fittings and tiles. Keeping the existing layout makes the job lighter; creating a walk-in shower means more work on the floor. Describe the room and the result you have in mind: we price each stage in a detailed quote.

Can a bath be replaced with a walk-in shower?

Yes. We take out the bath, rework the waste pipe and the floor, apply the waterproofing, then lay tiles sloping towards the drain. It all depends on that waste pipe, which has to sit low enough for water to drain away at floor level; where there is not enough height, a low-profile shower tray gives an entrance with almost no step.

What does the 10-year builder's guarantee (garantie décennale) cover for a bathroom?

It protects your bathroom for 10 years from handover against damage that affects the soundness of the work or stops the room being used normally: a concealed pipe leaking behind the wall tiles, for example. Fittings that can be removed without breaking anything, such as a tap or a heated towel rail, have their own two-year equipment guarantee (garantie biennale).

In an apartment building in co-ownership (copropriété), can I redo my bathroom freely?

Yes, as long as the work stays within your flat. The agreement of the general meeting of co-owners becomes necessary as soon as the work affects the communal parts, for example the pipes serving the whole building. The co-ownership rules say what is communal; a word with the managing agent (syndic) before you start clears up any doubt.

When can the bathroom be used again?

As soon as the fittings are in and connected, and the grout has set. Until then, the room is a building site: plan to use another shower room, or stay with family or friends on the days the water is off. You are told about those days in advance.
