Electrical renovation and rewiring to standard in Bordeaux

A renovation is the right time to bring your wiring up to the NF C 15-100 standard, which sets the rules for electrical installations in France. Your installation becomes safer, and sockets and lights end up in the right place in every room.

Proving dead on a consumer unit fitted with modular circuit breakers

We redo the consumer unit, circuits and sockets to the NF C 15-100 standard.

NS BAT 33 renovates the electrics in your home or business premises and brings them up to standard, in Bordeaux and the towns of the Right Bank. We replace the consumer unit (fuse box), run new circuits and fit sockets, switches and light points, applying the NF C 15-100 standard to every part we redo. Today's appliances finally get the circuits they need.

Cables and conduits go in at the same time as the plumbing, while walls and ceilings are still open; sockets, switches and light fittings are fitted after painting. A new fitted kitchen or bathroom therefore plans its electrics from the outset, and a full renovation brings the whole home up to date.

Under a single contract, the company that fits your consumer unit also runs the circuits and puts up the partition walls that hide them: your installation has one party responsible, who knows it in detail. A Cenon company since 2020, we renovate the electrics of houses and flats alike, on both banks of the Garonne and throughout Gironde.

Electrical work

What the work includes

  • New consumer unit

A new consumer unit replaces the old one, with its circuit breakers and residual current devices (RCDs). Each circuit is labelled: you can see at a glance which breaker controls the kitchen or the bedrooms.

  • A circuit for each use

The oven, hob and washing machine each have a dedicated circuit, and every room gets circuits suited to how it is used. Cables run in concealed conduits, before the walls are closed up.

  • Sockets and lighting

We put each socket where you will use it: above the worktop, by the bed or near the desk. For lighting, spotlights recessed into a suspended ceiling, wall lights and pendants set the mood in each room.

  • Older homes brought up to standard

A period flat or a 1970s house gets an installation that meets the NF C 15-100 standard: protective devices, earthing and circuits sized for today's appliances, keeping what can be kept.

  • A safe bathroom

Around the shower and bath, the standard defines zones where sockets, light fittings and appliances follow specific rules. We apply them for a bathroom that is compliant and pleasant to use.

Why choose us for this work

  • An installation that looks after you

If there is a fault, your new installation cuts the power by itself, thanks to the RCDs, the earthing and the protection on each circuit.

  • A consumer unit ready for the future

The standard requires spare space in the consumer unit: the day you add an appliance or a room, the new circuit simply connects to it.

  • Ten years' cover behind the plasterboard

The cables and boxes we conceal are covered by the 10-year builder's guarantee (garantie décennale) for ten years from handover: what stays hidden behind the plasterboard remains our responsibility.

How we work

How the project runs

  1. 1

    You describe your project

By phone or with the online form, you tell us what you want to transform. We call you back to pin the project down: the rooms involved, your priorities, the timing you have in mind.

  2. 2

    An itemised quote

Demolition, plumbing, plastering, painting: each job has its own line and its own price. You see exactly what you are paying for and decide with all the facts, before you sign anything.

  3. 3

    Each trade in turn

Demolition opens the project, followed by plumbing and electrics, partition walls, floors, joinery and painting. We organise this sequence: each trade starts on the finished work of the one before.

  4. 4

    Handover, room by room

We go over the work with you and record any snags on the handover report. That date starts your guarantees: one year for completion (garantie de parfait achèvement), two years for equipment (garantie biennale), ten years under the builder's guarantee (garantie décennale).

FAQ

Electrical work: your questions

Do I need a Consuel certificate after rewiring?

Yes, if the installation has been completely renovated and the network operator cut the power to it for the work: a certificate of compliance is then compulsory. This document, approved by Consuel, the French body for electrical safety, confirms that the installation meets the safety rules. For a partial renovation, or if the network operator did not cut the power, it is optional and you can still request one; Consuel provides a yellow certificate for this case.

Does an old house need completely rewiring?

When the whole house is being renovated, the electrics start from scratch too: consumer unit, earthing, cables, sockets and switches, before the partition walls go up. A single room is dealt with separately: its circuits are redone, with the protection they need at the consumer unit, and we tell you what can be kept elsewhere.

Do you rewire shops and offices?

Yes, and lighting matters twice as much there. Lighting, sockets and circuits are redone at the same time as the partition walls and suspended ceilings of the premises, and are planned around your business: a shop window shown off at its best, a counter that stands out, workstations with their own sockets.

How many sockets should each room have?

The NF C 15-100 standard sets a minimum number of sockets per room, higher in the living room and kitchen, with dedicated sockets above the worktop. We start from that minimum, then from how you live: television, desk, chargers by the bed, kitchen appliances. Your extension leads can stay in the cupboard.

What budget should I allow for rewiring?

There is a big gap between a full rewire, consumer unit included, and redoing a few circuits in one room. The number of points (sockets, switches, lights), access to the walls and how much of the existing installation is kept do the rest.
